Connection through Culture | Knights Cultural Night
Ahead of their Round 17 clash, Newcastle Knights began their week of preparation with an evening of connection, culture and celebration at their annual Cultural Night. Players, staff and families from both the Knights NRL and NRLW squads gathered at the Centre of Excellence to partake in a Welcome to Country smoking ceremony, shortly before engaging in a rotation of cultural workshops. The first station taught players how to perform the Samoan Sasa. The second station included a series of Maori games, whilst the final station celebrated Australian culture with a game of cricket. After a full rotation of all three stations guests united inside to be treated to a multicultural feast along with a Q&A with players of various backgrounds including: Kirra Dibb (Indigenous Australian), Trey Mooney (Maori-Croatian), Harrison Graham (Australian-American) and Grace Giampino (Italian).
