NRL ROOKIE CAMP 26’

On Friday 21 November 2025, League Ahead proudly welcomed the newest generation of Rugby League talent to the 2026 NRL Rookie Camp - a signature program designed to prepare incoming rookies for the realities, responsibilities, and opportunities of life in the NRL.

This year’s cohort brought energy, honesty, and an eagerness to grow, setting the tone for what was one of our most powerful camps yet. Over an intensive day of learning, sharing, and connection, the rookies explored what it truly means to step into the league not just as athletes, but as leaders, teammates, and grounded young men.

Building Strong Foundations On and Off the Field

The Rookie Camp continues to be a cornerstone experience within the NRL pathways system. Guided by presenters from League Ahead and the NRL community, participants were coached through the core pillars that support a sustainable and successful playing career:

Financial Literacy & Preparedness

Rookies were introduced to the fundamentals of financial wellbeing — budgeting, planning, and making decisions that support long-term stability. This session helps players step confidently into a professional environment where smart choices can shape their future.

2. Player Experience & The Realities of NRL Life

Through open conversations and shared stories, presenters addressed the expectations, pressures, and privileges that come with joining the league. The rookies learned how to navigate setbacks, manage success, and reach out for support when needed.

3. Purpose, Identity & Staying Grounded

A key theme echoed throughout the day — from both facilitators and guest speakers — was authenticity. Players were encouraged to reflect on the values that drive them, the people who support them, and the importance of staying connected to who they are beyond the jersey.
