League Ahead hosts 2026 Wellbeing & Education Conference

The annual League Ahead Wellbeing and Education Conference brought together the people behind player support from across the game for three days of connection, learning and shared experiences.

Held at Tangalooma Island Resort in Queensland, the conference welcomed wellbeing, education and careers staff from every NRL and NRLW club, along with representatives from several pathways clubs, creating a valuable opportunity for those working behind the scenes to strengthen relationships across the rugby league community.

Throughout the conference, attendees took part in collaborative discussions, workshops and opportunities to get to know each other on a deeper level. The conference was designed to build stronger connections and encourage the sharing of ideas and best practice.

A key highlight was a session with guest speaker Courtney Humphreys, who explored how clubs can create psychologically safe environments where players and staff feel supported, valued and empowered to thrive. The practical insights sparked thoughtful discussions and provided attendees with strategies they can take back into their own environments.

The conference also embraced the unique setting of Moreton Island, with attendees sharing memorable experiences through dolphin feeding, scuba diving and ATV quad biking.

The 2026 League Ahead Wellbeing and Education Conference once again highlighted the power of bringing people together, strengthening the network that helps players succeed both on and off the field.
