Ivan Cleary to deliver keynote at Culture of Wellbeing in Sport
League Ahead is pleased to announce that Panthers head coach Ivan Cleary will deliver a keynote presentation at the Culture of Wellbeing in Sport Conference, to be held at Allianz Stadium in Sydney on 13 October.
One of the most successful coaches in NRL history, Cleary has coached teams to six NRL Grand Finals, with the Warriors in 2011 and the Panthers from 2020 to 2024, guiding Penrith to four consecutive premierships from 2021 and 2024. Cleary has also been named Dally M Head Coach of the Year in both 2014 and 2020.
Cleary has consistently identified culture as a foundation of the Panthers’ sustained success, with strong leadership and organisational alignment at the heart of the club’s approach.
“Leaders create culture, culture drives behaviour, and behaviour produces results,” Cleary said.
“Alignment is the word I use most... From the board down, everyone is on the same page.”
Speaking about Cleary’s appointment as keynote speaker, League Ahead CEO Justine Whipper said his inclusion at the conference presents an outstanding opportunity for anyone working to build healthier, high-performing sporting environments to gain valuable insights from one of the most successful coaches in rugby league.

At the upcoming conference, Cleary will explore the importance of psychological safety, leadership and building a culture of trust in sport, drawing on his experience as an NRL head coach.
The Culture of Wellbeing in Sport Conference will take place on 13 October at Allianz Stadium, Sydney, bringing together leaders and professionals to examine how sporting organisations can create cultures that support both wellbeing and high performance.
